On January 11, 2013, the body of Kendrick Johnson was discovered inside a vertical rolled-up mat in the gymnasium of Lowndes High School in Valdosta, in Georgia. A preliminary investigation and autopsy concluded that the death was accidental. Johnson's family had a private pathologist conduct a second autopsy which concluded the obvious, that Johnson died from blunt force trauma. |
Allegedly Brian Bell and Taylor Eakin took part in murdering Kendrick Johnson.
Eakin allegedly slept with Johnson and Bell beat him to death with a gym weight. Rick Bell, Brian's father, is a former FBI agent who had Johnson's organs and finger/toe nails removed so Johnson's time of death could not be determined. School footage was taken from the school. It is believed the school helped cover up this brutal crime.
About the case.....
On June 20, 2016 the US Department of Justice announced that it would not be filing any criminal charges related to Johnson's death. Original reports claimed Johnson got trapped in the rolled mat trying to recover his shoes, even tho his shoes appear to have been placed in the mat after Johnson was rolled into it.

Johnson's family filed a $100 million civil lawsuit against 38 individuals, Kendrick Johnson's family vs Lowndes County Board of Education and school officials. The lawsuit alleged that Johnson's death was a murder and accused the respondents of a conspiracy to cover up the homicide. The lawsuit was subsequently withdrawn. Georgia Judge Richard Porter ordered the Johnsons' and their attorney to pay more than $292,000 in legal fees to the defendants. The judge in that case accused the Johnsons' and their attorney of fabricating evidence to support their claims; nevermind video evidence of the day was heavily redacted and its clear this incident was no accident. A total of 3 autopsies have been conducted in which three determined Johnson died from blunt force trauma. |
