Victim Shaming, Me too and Black Lives Matter

Cyberbullying--bullying online rather than face to face--is linked to various types of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms, both for victims and perpetrators, suggests the first study of its kind, published online in the Archives of Disease in Childhood.

As each year passes, the rise in cyberbullying is becoming an ongoing problem. It is a shame that those engaging in this disturbing behavior feel it is excusable to taunt people having a different opinion than they. Even more disturbing is the people encouraging this type of behavior.
One thing for certain, despite the terrible things you have heard about R. Kelly, he has never condoned nor participated in bullying, victim shaming, and overall harassment displayed by some of his fans. To present your perspective based on facts is one thing, but to go on vicious rants to slander a person's character is a crime. In an age where people are quick to say black lives matter..... Why does this only apply to tragic events? Does black lives matter only apply to black men?
As you should be aware by now, The Me Too movement is claiming to empower women of sexual abuse. Considering the dramatic decrease in respect for women of all races, this movement is now being used as a weapon against men. As a result, many feel it is appropriate to lash out at these women participating in this movement out of ignorance and lack of understanding. We have the power to change this.

People will often ask why people don't want to speak out for injustice and stand on principal. It should be clear that many just don't want to be subject to ridicule for having a different opinion and not following the crowd. Despite all the false allegations against R. Kelly he has never spoken out negatively about his accusers or those that have put him in his current predicament. This is not his character.

It is unacceptable for men to target and cause distress to women for any reason. It is unacceptable for people to stand by enabling this behavior.

Threatening people online or in person is against the law!

Everyone has a past and learning experience. No one should have to endure cyberbullying as a result by those expecting their criminal past and actions to be overlooked. If you feel you have been a victim of Cyberbullying, you have options. Stand your ground and take appropriate steps to report this crime.
